Hi, I shoot a PSE Marauder bow set at 65# with a 29" draw length. I have also been shooting Easton Axis ST 340's a 30" arrow at 9.5 grains per inch. I was wondering if my arrows are underspined for my setup? What is the general rule on selecting arrows properly spined arrows? Sorry I'm new to this whole archery tech talk stuff. Been shooting bows for only about 5 years. I would appreciate any help thanks!!!

We're missing the point weight which is a major part of the equation. There is no one "general rule". There are several factors that go into making the choice of which shaft to shoot depending on what it is you want to achieve from your set-up. One general rule is that if you are on the border of two shafts in a selection chart, choose the stiffer shaft for shooting broadheads... unless you're shooting an Elite, then pick the weaker shaft as they tend to like a weaker arrow for some reason. There's a lot that goes into it and some of it you only learn from experience.

Very true. Turns out my Judge likes a 400 spine arrow with a 125 grain tip, even though most charts show I should be leaning towards a 340 with a 100 grain head. Go figure.

Sorry a 100 grain G5 montec broadhead. thanks. I'm looking to get my setup ready for an archery elk hunt.

The Easton charts put you on the upper end for a .340 shaft but in range. You could start bare shaft tuning the 30" arrow and if it shows as being weak you could trim a little off the length to stiffen it up.
