Havnt had a movie thread for awhile, And heres a topic we never cover, What movie(s) do you guys feel are "underrated" by the media/press/critics?
From an analytical point of view a lot of the older films from movements like the film noir movement (movies like Laura, Double Indemnity), have failed to get much recognition these days, IMO the movies being put out lately are all crap unless they're funny. Even though Cool Hand Luke gained alot of recognition when it was released with the whole rebellion thing, I think it's still a great movie that not many people from my generation on have seen,
I really liked The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. For some reason that movie captured my mind like few movies I have ever watched. Also, Reservoir Dogs comes to mind as being underrated. Blood Diamond with Leonardo DiCaprio. I am not really good at remembering all the movies I have watched so take my little list as a grain of salt.
I brought this movie up a few threads ago but what about The Road? Everyone hypes about The Book of Eli but they need to see this movie too.
All time classic for sure. True Romance is about as good of a movie with an unreal cast that almost no one I know has ever seen.
For me: Last Man Standing One Crazy Summer The Money Pit There's a number of other movies. But, those tend to be ones that I never hear mention of anywhere.
