Origin Hunt: The Future of the American Hunter with Jocko, Cam Hanes (bowhunting.com) I went on their site, their selection is way down and the only collection they have is ColdGear. RidgeReaper is giving me a 404 error. Under Armour
There is still a hunting section on the UA site, maybe rebranding or introducing a new line. Seems like I recall they make tweaks to a lot of hunting around this time of year. Not sure if Cam leaving was their doing or his. Similarly Remi Warren seems to be distancing himself from the meateater /FL conglomerate...
Remember the big controversy UA had a few years back, there was a poster here that said he was going to buy more UA stock that was when it was about $53 a share, that didn't work out so well now did it.
I don't have any skin in the game personally. I don't buy or use anything UA for hunting. I think its widely known that UA has a love/hate relationship with hunting. They love the money they make off their hunting gear... yet don't like the act of hunting itself. But money is money in the corporate world. Either way... all this corporate crap that has transcended into the the hunting world and the Outdoor Channel is pure bullcrap. Its ruining our sport in more ways than one. I think its a lot of reason why the guys like hunting public, hunting beast, whitetail adrenaline, etc are gaining such huge popularity.
Pretty sure UA initiated the separation with CH and KF, two founders of this new company. UA can make more money selling soccer jerseys in Europe and South America than they will ever make from hunters. Every company has to trim the fat and stick with its real money makers.
I have quite a bit of UA hunting gear, all their fleece ColdGear is top notch. I have had the same pair of UA fleece pants for like 8-9 years now, and I wear them more than any other pair every season and they are still going strong. I wasn't happy with their response to the spear hunting incident back then. I made the point here that at the end of the day, bowhunting isn't really any different than spear hunting from either a mechanical or moral perspective. We all kill animals with sharp pointy sticks. Someone (or a company) that has a problem with killing animals with one type of sharp pointy stick is not going to have bowhunters' backs when the Karens and Peta people start haranguing them about bowhunting also. As you said, other consumer bases are bigger and much less controversial. Except for the fact that soccer has and will always suck.
sort of related note; saw the other day that Dana White/UFC has partnered with The Rock's footwear brand as the official UFC shoe. Not sure how that's going to work out b/c The Rock is a woke beotch and Dana is about as un-woke as you can get. Capitalism makes for strange bedfellows sometimes.
that's a match made in hell. The guy who runs that parent company was (and is) one of Hillary's largest campaign bundlers. Anti-Gunner's 'MeatEater' Purchase Poses Problems For Hunt-Focused Biz (thefederalist.com)
UA possibly pushing out their sponsored shows and possibly their entire hunting lineup isn't. The other posts are just related topics.
Those shows are becoming popular because the outdoor channel ones are so entirely unrealistic unless you have extreme cash to burn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not an Under Armour fanatic, but their insulated long Johns are great. Warm and no sweat waking in. I have an UA mock turtle neck for running in cold weather and it is amazing. Keeps you warm running in winter, but is breathable. Everything I have is exceptional. That being said, do not really care if they are involved in hunting Or not.
I dumped their baselayers years ago when I found high end merino wool stuff. Way warmer, wicks well and zero stink.
