Anyone have or use under Armour base layer 4.0? Worth the cost? Does it work? How many additional layers do you wear? Things like that. Thanks
I actually just bought it last week and wore this weekend in 25 degree temps. I will say its warm yes, But i cant give you a full review yet due to we had 20-30 mph winds so that kinda cuts through everything. I dont think im gonna say its worth the price but it is warm. Once I get a few more sits with it i will be able to give you a better review on it.
Not sure how much your paying for it but our local UA store has the tops and bottoms for 29.99 a piece. Might have to try some next year. But my Rocky heavy base layers are really nice that are from Walmart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If your local stores have the 4.0 tops and bottoms for 29.99 buy them. They are about $55 more every where I have seen them.
29.99?!?!?! I paid 45 each at the under armour outlet last year! And that was a steal! As for a review on them for the op, it was 2 degrees out this Sunday for gun hunting, and I had the base on, a sweatshirt, and a medium weight jacket on and I was toasty. Also, it wicks sweat away very well. I would pay full price for it in a heartbeat. Normal long underwear, and I'd be too cold to handle it after about an hour. I'll have to double check but I know they had a three different levels of base layers and they all were 29 a piece. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If your worried about being warm, there is also UA 5.0 and I will say its awesome. I swear its like having a heated blanket when you put it on. I got it a few weeks ago and hunting the -5 windshield this past weekend it was worth every penny.
Yep. Wear the 3.0 top and 4.0 bottom cuz I found a good deal on them a year or two ago. They are fantastic. As long as you have some kind of layer that cuts the wind, you are good to go. I sat out today for 5 hours. My upper body had my 3.0 layer, a sweatshirt, and jacket. Bottoms were my 4.0 layer and a windshear pant. Morning started at 18 degrees and was up to 30 when I got out of the woods. I was plenty warm the whole time. Worth every penny I ever spent on them.
To everyone saying the wind cuts through, well duh, it's a base layer. It's only meant to keep you dry from sweat and insulate, not cut wind. Best system I have found for staying warm is moisture wicking BL, fleece as the "meat", with a quality wind breaker. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
