What's this I hear about UNC fans storming the court after beating Duke? Has UNC really fallen that far? Are they no longer an elite program? Elite programs fans don't storm the court.
I don't think students storming the court has any reflection on the program... It's just students having fun. I feel bad for the program that can't get excited for a big win in the biggest rivalry in any sport and celebrate amongst each other and have FUN. I'm currently located in Chapel Hill as my GF is in grad school at UNC but I don't have all that much of a vested interest in the team other than hoping to attend a few games just to take in the atmosphere. I hope when I do go make it to a game that the program hasn't reached a point where the students and team can't celebrate a big win.
Storming the court isn't a nock on the program. Its students having fun. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
This for the win. It blows my mind how Indiana and now UNC have both fallen to that. UNC is a top 3 program all time.... Act like you've been there before. Of course be excited but don't resort to amateur hour tactics. Kentucky doesn't rush the court. Ever. Louisville doesn't rush the court. Duke, Syracuse, Kansas... The list goes on.
First team to beat preseason top 4 uk, mich.st, louisvill and dook. And yeah i can see thats its fun to storm the court too and they probaly just got caught in the momentlol Cuz they didnt storm when they beat uk louisvill or mich.st lol but it dont matter lol i just know when brackets come out and if unc makes it which i say they will im making them a upset team to win a couple games and dook losong first round lol
Dude, use some punctuation please, my eyeballs are bleeding from trying to figure out what you are saying.
Sorry lol didnt know it was hard to read, i rarley ever use punctuatuon and no one ever says anything lol
I don't mean to come down on you like a punctuation nazi, but it's hard to read when you don't know where to stop or pause. Also, it's hard for me to take someones opinion seriously if they cannot communicate it in a fairly professional way.
An unranked UNC beating a Duke team that was ranked 5th in the country. Also, one of the biggest rivalries in college basketball so I dont mind. It's a bunch of college kids that are pumped up from a great win, stop acting like there's something wrong with that. Im sure it does look bad for UNC, but no one is going to be able to stop a thousand people from rushing on the floor.
Their students should know the tradition of the program. If anything they should celebrate getting back in the top 25 now where they belong... I'm not saying not to party (UK students literally rioted in the streets when they won the NC in 2012 lol) but rushing the court seems like a Cinderella upset moment for small programs.
Lol yeah but im sure if i was there id do it too they can tell their kids they stormed a unc dook game lol but yeah kinda made us look like a bad team when really that was our game to win weve beat better teams it was at home. It was just a good game
I don't have a big problem with it. It was a big win. Yes they've been there before and should probably act like they belong there. But it was a big win as far as the way this season has gone. More of a "we're back" excitement. And beating Duke... is .. well... beating Duke. I know I personally almost broke my ceiling fan lol. And they don't storm the court at Cuse because everyone is in a mad rush to get the heck out of that place and beat traffic with 35,000 fans.
Aha fair enough. Cuse rarely hits those numbers though. UK has led nation in attendance 14 of last 15 years and their capacity is 23k and change... The move to the ACC has skyrocketed their attendance this year though. That was a mad house for the Duke game!
It was absolute chaos getting out of there. Took about 2 hours. They are actually talking about building a new complex. It just can't handle the parking and traffic anymore.
