I went up to my place last Thursday after work. I was going to be leaving the next morning to go on a 4 wheeler trip with a group of friends. Before I was going to leave, I wanted to repair my wife's lawnmower deck so she would have it ready to go when she got there. I was out in the garage working on the deck when I decided to take a break (it was hot). I grabbed a folding chair, set it in the driveway just outside the door and sat down. Sitting there, I looked to my left and saw this guy looking at me. He then went back to pulling on my bird feeder and letting the sunflower seed run into his mouth. After I took a couple pictures, I opened the side door and yelled at him to get out of there while firing a couple shots from my .45. I wanted to scare him as much as possible because that is too close to my trailer and buildings. I figured a bear might be around because when I first got up there, I had to straighten the bird feeders up and bend the pipes straight. Deer usually just stand on their hind feet and lick up the seed.
We have a resident bear in our neighborhood. You can never put your garbage out the night before. Very cool to watch, pain to clean up after.
Sorry that he is destroying your bird feeders, but that is fully that he is bending the pole to that the seeds pour in.. lol.
You might as well take the bird feeders down. You probably scared the birds away too when you were scaring the bear away with the .45. :p Tim
I'll find out tonight if he's still coming back. It's not the feeders I'm worried about. I don't want him prying open my trailer. If that happens there won't be anymore warning shots.....
