I've had my share of cheap umbrellas for hunting. Does anyone have any advice on what umbrellas to stay away from and what ones you would prefer.

I cut a section out of an old one, tied it to the tree and kept me dry just fine. I actually just left it on my stand so I wouldnt have to guess the weather

I've used all sorts of makes, models and shapes of hunting/tree umbrellas all to the same end. If it's a light rain without a lot of wind they all work pretty well. If it's pouring and windy they all suck.

If it's raining hard enough where I need an umbrella I usually will not sit. Not because i'm a wimp but because I don't want to loose a deer due to a washed out blood trail.
