Im currently looking to invest into some new camo... i have just started really looking into it. i am really liking the ultimate camo pattern but im not quiet sure..... i know it will do well on the hardwoods but more than half my hunting area is pine..... how does the ultimate camo stack up to the pine tree setting??

i really want to purchase some, especially to support the small guy instead of the huge companies. really want something that can be used for all settings. thanks for any advise or help yall can give.

I don't hunt a lot of pine but have have used it in Cedar and Pine trees a few times and didn't get busted. Are you going to use it primarily for Pine Tree Hunting? You could always contact them on the site to see if they have any test photos.

I use UC it works good in pines and oaks. Not so much in the Popple and Birch. I have nothing but good things to say about UC.

yes i guess i would say itll be 60/40 pines to hardwoods.... i might could even it out to 50/50 by being very selective on a tree but itll still be lots of pines... thank you for the help i will ask about test photos... should i post on the sponsor forum or email??

cuz like i said i think its sweet pattern and wanna pull the trigger.

I like the pattern very well, but I don't think anything stands up to Predator or ASAT for working every where. I do prefer Predator

I wore UC quite a bit this year, and I would like to see more options available in materials, wind stopper, and insulation. Just my .02

I can get Predator in Wool, Wolfskin, Fleece, Buck Suede, with several wind blocking, and insulating options.

In Pines I'm not sure that some of the Mossy Oak & Realtree patters might be your best bet if you are up in evergreens most of the time.

For me it has to be ASAT Predator is starting to 'close' the pattern down slightly to catch the hunters eye.

Most camo works well when hard up against a solid backdrop like a tree or rocks but ASAT seems to be a real 'open' pattern which breaks up the human form. With the 'realtree types' (I have loads) from a distance of even 20yds you seem to look like a human shaped 'blob' the outline is not broken up.

I have hunted lots of deer in ASAT and i do think they cannot make out what is there, they cannot 'see' you.

I have a fleece jacket, and it is better than the other. Still pretty lightweight for late season.

I like the pattern. It has proven itself to me as a consistent camo pattern and can be worn from October-December. The camo material doesn't overheat me and is quiet on the draw. I look forward to purchasing more from the UC store when the fleece comes out. Plus, the company is owned by a great guy....one of us.

Donut to answer your question yes U.C. will work for you in a pine tree setting.
Later today I will post a pic of the new fleece jacket that I have for your viewing pleasure.
Like anything whatever you think you will feel most confident in go for it.
    Confidence breeds success. :-)

Hey donut---I see your bottom signature says Courtland, VA. I had two good friends in college from Courtland. Both brothers, the Applewhites...great guys.

    I have a UC question...

If you were to use UC trousers, and something like a ghillie upper, and stood on the ground, Would you just look like a little tree? :)

I have to do that anyway... I've had too many of them try climbing on me... I don't care for that, all that much...

I'm just thinkin' with standing in a field, next to another tree, I'm pretty sure you could pull some really creepy shots off with that.. lol..
