Did he really just say that? I hope it was your girlfriends kid signed on typing...for your sake that is.

A first for me tonight, telling people they suck at bowhunting. Cool!

Thanks, Rick... I like the way you applied the tape to the V brackets; looks good!

You must have been making your post above when I made mine, LOL... I was saying "thanks" for the comment on my original post -- but I agree this thread needs to get back on track. Leave for martial arts training and its three replies long and come home to a four-page thread, geesh!

Just for the record, Don... Bruce is right. If your post got removed, on HNI it was probably because another moderator or admin felt you were trying to turn a positive post about a member of our bowhunting community who had the hudspa to chase his dream and start a business in this brutally tough industry into a childish pissing contest. He deserves the positive press for a variety of factors, ranging from simply outstanding customer service to the mere fact he's got a great product. He doesn't deserve childish rants that take away from that message.

    Greg, the sticks look sharp!

Hardcore, the UCR is nice too. Especially the fact that you can use it on larger trees and no buckle.

Rick, I didnt even see your sticks, they had so much camo on them, lol

Can I ask a question? I use to have a fetish with black straps, they drive me nuts. I was for sure that a mature deer could "see" them.

This year I called in a turkey for my buddy, he was wearing a black sweat suit. At one point he had a turkey standing 5 ft from him almost right on top of him. If a 255 lb man in black does not bother a turkey at 5 ft. Is a stick step without camo going to bother a deer?

Is it not really all about movement?

    Germ,

I know the thread got way off track unfortunately, but Rob's exactly right -- if you go back and read my original post you'll see that was one of the main reasons I did this, and that I also mentioned that I've been plenty successful in the past, obviously before I applied the camo tape to them.

I hunt a lot of public land, and have to suffer people walking past my stands periodically; I prefer not to be noticed for one, and I also don't want people stopping and starting a conversation wtih me while I'm trying to hunt. I think the fact that they blend in so well now will help avoid that scenario.

I've also got in mind replacing the solid black straps with some camo straps that really blend in very well with our oaks around here.

And finally... Rob's right on the last part, too: They look freakin' cool now! ;)

Wow, I came into this thread thinking I was going to check out some cool looking climbing sticks. Not only did I get that from several members, but an episode of Days of Our Lives too! That's awesome!

I really like the look of the sticks with the hardward having been removed. I think I'll do the same on my Muddy sticks. I like the way Rickmur's look with the steps and v-bars taped too, but I have a feeling that will peel in time from use. Those may be parts that are better suited for dipping.

    Back to the show.:p
