Look in to a 30-378 Magnum. you can shoot a 150 gr bullet faster than a 220 swift shoots a 50 gr bullet and 180 gr bullet faster than a 270 shoots a 140 gr bullet.
30-06 hands down in my humble opinion. I've taken and seen animals all over the world taken with it. From fox to eland.
And burn your barrel out. Why use such a heavy cartridge for light bullets? Waste. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
I would rather have the 338-378 then a 30-378. if you ever want to get into long range shooting the ballistic coefficient of the 338 projectiles stomps on the 30 cal projectiles available, but either would kill anything on 4 legs. I have a Sako TRG 42 338 lapua mag. the b.c of the 338 300 grain Berger hybrid tactical otm is .818
Always been a 7mm mag fan, 300 wm would be a nice option on grizzly bears due to the heavier projectiles available. I think either is plenty adequate for most game and still have reasonably priced/available ammo.
Or you can push a 200grn bullet with a much better BC and still hit 3200+ Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk 2
