I don't know how many of y'all watch UFC, but this is the first time in a while that I'm actually excited to see a fight. Hopefully Sonnen can back up is trash talk.
Love the UFC, lots of outdoorsman that fight in the octagon. I hope Sonnen wins this one for 2 reasons; 1) He was rocking Silva's world last fight and was really giving him a beating 2) I just want him to be able to back up his loud mouth.
Ya Brock Lesner is a big whitetail hunter. And Sonnen was destroying Silva. If it was any other fighter getting whooped like that they probably would have called it, but since its their golden boy they gave him a chance and Sonnen was just too tired from the first round I think.
I'm hoping for a bloody and epic beatdown of both fighters that ends with a Split Draw so that these two can beat the hell out of each other again. I'm sick of watching Silva dance and tired of Chael thinking he is the biggest and baddest beast in the UFC. I hope they both loose teeth and maybe some brain cells in this fight.
Same davidmil from huntingnet.com? And I saw something on yahoo about silva hitting him or something during weigh in, just for that i want him to lose.
Got to disagree with you here (and I cannot stand Silva), but even though Cheal dominated the fight...he did not beat him near enough to warrant a stoppage. He took him down, layed on top beat him a little and got sloppy in the 5th. Silva was just watching and waiting for a mistake, on what seemed to be an off night and found it. Champions, no matter how much we like/dislike them always find a way to win and make us think they are lucky, some form of conspiracy etc.. For the record, I agree 100% with Raceway, both guys bashing each others skulls in and receiving a draw would be great. Both are not high on my list of favorites.
Yeah, I agree. Big money fight, especially pay per view etc...Can you imagine how hard UFC would push the fight, Silva avenges first defeat in " " amount of fights.
Eh, fight was okay. Sonnen took him down in the first and kept him down the whole round. Early in the 2nd Chael fell after missing a spinning back fist and Silva took advantage. A good knee to the head dazed him and a few seconds later they called it. Surprisingly enough, Sonnen wasn't a complete d-bag after the fight. Silva is incredible.
I don't know why but I just hate a spinning back fist. I 've only seen it landed a few times and if I remember correctly I think I saw Matt Serra get knocked out with one. Other than that it just seems like the risk/reward factor isn't there. One of the first fights i saw Urijah Faber lose he got jacked up after getting out of position with a sbf. I thought Sonnen won the first round handily. That must suck for Sonnen, they have fought 7 rounds and he's one 5 of them convincingly. I'm sure there are some other fighters taking notes on maybe the only weaksness in Silvas game. I still think GSP in his prime a couple years back and Silva would have been a good fight even considering Silva is bigger and a far better striker GSP's wrestling is/was ridiculous and while Silva is excellent on the ground he has also been controlled there. jmo
Anybody watch the Tito Ortiz fight? I was bummed Tito didnt leave the UFC with a win, but to me it seamed like he was exhausted & unprepared. Plus wth was Forest Griffin doing when he walked away from the Octagon? I wanted Chael to win, he had the first round. Got to excited in the second round and Silva let him have it.
I dont watch the fights anymore. The fights themself are still always pretty dam good just the rest of it is almost boardering WWE with all the pre hype drama.
