I will probably have to post a pic before someone can tell me but I'm curios as to which series bow I have. Guy said it was a riot by missions and it was a 2012 model bow. Is there a way I can look this up or should I just post a picture for the experts? Any help would be appreciated

Wow. Major let down. Made a trade on a bow for a gun and with little to no knowledge of Mathews, he said it was 2012 riot, turns out its a Mathews mission "JOuRNEY" manufactured in 2008-09. It looks like a nice bow but I may have lost on this end ofte deal. I traded a marlin xl7 .308

The journey is a higher end bow than a Riot, it cost a few hundred bucks back when they were released, more than a Riot. Similiar cam to a Mathews DXT which is arguably one of the best Mathews bows ever made. I think you did just fine

Nice. I was a little concerned but it wouldn't matter anyways. It would have been my own stupidity! Is there any info out there on this bow. I gotta get the draw length changed some. Feels like I'm choking up on it! Also the strings look like they haven't been properly taken care of.

go to the Mission website, find a licensed dealer near you, and take it there.
I will say this...as you are new to archery, don't be surprised if your local shop pro initially comes off as a jerk. I don't know what it is, but dang near every pro shop I've ever been in (no matter what brands they carry or state they are located in) is owned/operated by either a grumpy old man or a smug/condescending a-hole. I know that's a broad brush, but its been my experience.
