Since Tyler is such a sneak and stealing sheds from me... it is time to train his replacement and send him packing. LOL Well maybe not replace him but Britty can help dear ole dad tag team against him to even the odds a bit. She did go out with us Sunday and showed us she could walk the walk by putting on 4 miles with energy to spare. Sadly for her the two PROs couldn't put her in a spot to find sheds. I mostly blamed Tyler for this !!! Can't let Britty know her hero failed her. Monday we had to go to a funeral but got back early... so off Britty and I go in search of monster sheds. No monster sheds were found but we did manage to stumble across 2 sheds. The first shed took her a bit to find but with dad's great guiding abilities... Britty found her first shed of 2010. hero shot... The second shed she found a little faster. Sent her looking in the general direction. I spotted the shed off a ways with my binocs. I don't think it will ever get old to hear... Dad, I found one . hero shot... We checked one more spot but nada a shed for the taking. Was a fun couple hours as Britty really enjoys being outside. Always lots of questions to answer and things to see that interest her. Tim
Absolutely AWESOME!!!!!!! Rather see posts like this any day over a set of monster sheds (although that is a close second :D) So get her on a monster shed and it will be my favorite post of the year.
Congrats to Britty. Tim keep them kids in the woods. Good to see families doing things in the outdoors together.
I think It's time I make a drive over to either SD or ND. I'm really seriously thinking about doing It for a day.
That is awsome Tim, congrats to both you and Britty! That is just awsome. Steve... just do it... I wish I could head west for some shed hunting, maybe its just an illusion, but it looks like it would be easier/more fun to shed hunt out west. The areas I shed hunt are simply a pain in the ass. The fields that the deer are feeding in are cut cornfields on rolling hills so glassing for sheds in almost impossible, and the woods are so thick tha you have to be within a few feet of a shed to easily notice it. I didn't get a chance to shed hunt today, but if the rain holds off I will be doing some shed hunting tomorrow.... I have a hillside which is around 50 acres in size that is nothing but a grown up fence row that hasn't been maintained in more than 30 years. I havn't hunted S.Texas, but if I did, I would say this hillside is the best representation of it in the state... the entire hillside is just thick undergrowth about 12 feet tall, visability is around 4 feet when inside and you have to crawl on hands and knees for most of it.
