I am back to contemplating fixed cut on contact heads now. I am not 100% sure I want to use the mechanicals I have. Bought them last year on clearance because I like the way they looked. To me looked like they would work really well and actually may. I just want to have 100% confidence when I draw back on a deer. I feel the less I have to worry about the more accurate I will be. Mind thing I guess. I am also torn due to this being my second season and first to be dedicated solely to the bow. No rifles at all this year. I have been looking at different broadheads and am confused as to the different advantages of 2,3 and 4 blade heads. I was thinking of going with a two. seems like less friction would lead to deeper penetration and more possibilities of a pass through with my set up. With all due respect, I am not looking for advice on changing my arrow weight on this one. I am comfortable with it where it is. I am only asking which number of blades you guys would recommend. Here are the specs of my set up:
28" Draw length, 65lb weight, 357gr arrows (with 100gr tips), 265FPS and KE of 56.

    Thanks greatly in advance, Stick

If you use a true COC broadhead, you could use a 2, 3, or 4 blade broadhead. It wouldn't really matter given the speed of your bow. Now, with a chisel point you could still probably use a 3 or 4 blade broadhead. But if I were you I would err on the side of caution and use only a 3 blade broadhead.

True Cut on Contact broadhead.....NOT a chisel point like a Muzzy

The question still remains: 2, 3 or 4 blades? I am not concerned with a brand name right now, I already know which brand and model I will choose. I will be buying one of the following deepending on the number of blades you guys help me decide on. 2 blade-Mangus Stinger SS, three blade-Mangus Snuffer SS or four blade-NAP Razorback. If I don't have enough help from everyone, I will go with the two blade Magnus Stinger SS.

virginiashadow, it will be a true cut on contact. I do not like the chisel points at all. All of the ones I listed above are true cut on contact heads.

I never suggested what brand to buy. I just posted representative heads. I shot Muzzy's for years out of a bow that shot maybe 260-270 fps...not really sure. Those chisel point Muzzy's blew right through them, so I have no issues with chisel point broadheads using a compound. Now with my recurve, I will only shoot COC broadheads.

My personal opinion for you....3 blades.

virginiashadow, I believe you posted yours while I was typing the one about brands. Sorry about that one. I was leaning towards 2 or 3 blade to be honest.

I have heard on a three blade you are suposed to lline up your viens with the blades how true is this?

The 2-blade stinger is bad news for ANY animal! Shot them two years ago and may be going back to them! Like you stated, less friction, same weight, better penetration!
