I had a feeling that today would be a good day. I talked to the farmer on a tract of land I hunt a few weeks back and he asked me to join another hunter and hunt this week. He said shoot whatever shows up! He is sick of the deer eating his beans! We have been putting out deer apples and shelled corn there for about a week. The temps have been in the low 50s the last few days. I hunted yesterday and didn't see anything. Well, about 5:30 today, I was sitting thinking nothing was going to happen when I looked up and saw this spike and what I thought was a doe walking straight to me. They came right in between 20-25 yards and started eating apples. I waited until he turned nearly broadside facing me and I put the Rage Hypodermic through his shoulder and out the opposite side. He jumped and just trotted off. It was a solid hit, he just didn't bolt out of there like I thought he would. The button head turned and stared at him. I reached and got another arrow and put one in him too. Double Lung Shot! They both fell within 50yards of each other! Neither was more than 60 yards from my stand. I know the yearling is no prize, but I said the next buck I kill I was dedicating to my Grandmother who just passed. That is why I am So Excited!!
