I laid in bed until 2AM this morning (or I guess yesterday morning) thinking opening day strategies and I still have until Saturday.

Sitting here watching the Primos boys put the smackdown on some big ol' whitetails in Bowhunting 6 ain't helping much either!

 

This year has been different for me. I got my GOTTA GET OUT THERE bug out of the way in AK before our season even came in....and now I have found myself struggling to want to get out there all the time just because of the heat and bugs. Tomorrow has a high of 67...it's finally here and I am gung ho about it again. Something about that September heat did me in for my drive to get out there this year. I even had a fairly great opportunity at the bean field I was hunting early (problem being when I NEEDED to get out there I couldn't, and when I WANTED to be out there I honestly didn't need to be).

Good luck! IN season opens Thursday as well, but I won't make it up there till Monday or more likely the following weekend.

 

So what you're saying Trev is that AK spoiled you?

My first day won't be until the 6th, but I am certainly ready.

I know what you mean with the weather. The season opened up last week, and its not oct first today and the temps are about 45 this morning...very very chilly, but with high winds 25-30. Good cold front has came through, so windy or not, you'll find me in a stand after work tonight....

I'm one of the few people that wishes the opener was still at least a week away.

I'm still trying to get all the stuff out the garden and put up.

Of course... I fully plan on being in a tree on Thursday morning. :D

2 days here as well...couldn't fall asleep last night - and work is just miserable this week - but I knew it would be.

Weekend weather looks great for IL...should get 2-3 hunts in this weekend...just excited we don't have the 90 degrees we've had the last two opening weekends

Not to rub it in or anything but I'll be out there this afternoon and tomorrow, the temps are going to be in the low 30's with a frost advisory!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH BABY! :D

 

haha im right with you brother..cant wait to get out of school here..gonna go home scent free my stuff, hang them up , spray them down, get my stuff and head to the stand. I know its windy, but you cant beat this cool cool weather. I love it.
