Damn!!! That was exciting!!! So apparently turkeys can see blaze orange like its no bodies business. Had two gobblers coming in and didn't know they were that close the last time I called, they were about 15 yards away, but couldn't see out that way due to the natural cover we put on. Then next thing I know, there they are, then they get about 10 ft away from my decoy and look and saw the inside of my hood, which is blaze orange and just walked away. Got 1 shot off, but forgot to change my one pin to 30 yards and it landed at his feet.
So off to ****s sporting goods tonight for a new sweatshirt with no blaze on it at all, and I'll be same spot tomorrow. Slight modifications and hopefully will be eating turkey tomorrow night.

Good luck getting that bird. They do see color, hence the colored head that can attract a bird from quite a distance.

Well I knew they could see red, blue and white like that, but didn't think of the blaze orange.. Hunted deer for years, first year going for turkeys. I'll have one by the end of the season, that's for sure.

Good luck and yes turkeys do see color.

As has been said, "if a turkey could smell.... there is no way a human could ever kill one!"
