Man, it was unbelievable yesterday. I was actually going to a fire call out in the country, and we came across at least 8 different sets of large flocks of turkeys @ 1500. I couldn' believe all that I seen just on one road. I've never seen that many out at the same time. Quite a few longbeards too. Is that normal for them to be out now at that time?
Yup, they are flocked up big time here too. Should start breaking up soon. They are out and about gettin' some sun.
Same here. We still have a flock of about 35 or so holding together on our property as well as a flock of about the same number frequenting farms along my drive to work I've been seeing. Additionally, we have the mother of all flocks at our cabin just north of us. On the second Wednesday of our rifle season, we counted over 100 turkeys in our cut corn field. When the numbers get that high, you have to start worrying about disease and/or lack of food.
Im with ya man, ive had a flock of around 100 hanging out by one of my late season stands all week. Dang they are noisy. Ill post up some video in a few minutes.
