Congrats man! Nice to see some quality family time in the blind. My dad isn't much of a turkey Hunter but is a big bow hunter so if I can find him a bird I know he would go sit it out with me. Rough idea in score? Look forward to the pics, still over a month to wait here!

It only score 51, his beard wasn't as long as I thought it was. I posted it on the score page already but I'm hoping I can upgrade next week in South Dakota.

Hey man, 50 on the board is better than 100 in the bush, or something like that! If everyone killed a 50pt bird we would take it by a land slide! Congrats again and good luck on the next one!

It was a really lopsided bunch, 9 or 10 strutters and only a couple hens. I dropped my phone and grabbed for my bow right after I took this picture, the video wouldn't upload. Dad was on the right and I was left. Dad wanted me to shoot first so as they came in I waited for them to come to the decoys. They walked right by. I couldn't believe we had that many toms in front of us and no arrows were flung. I grabbed the slate and gave a few yelps and they started back. The birds hung up right behind the blind. I peeked out my side window and I had a gobbler 5 ft away but there was nothing I could do about it. I was still amazed that they waltzed right by the decoys. They eventually worked their way back in front of us and I quick swapped arrows for a Gobbler Getter. It Bullheads will have to wait. I dropped my bird and of course he dropped down in a little ditch out of sight about 50 yards away. The other toms went to harass him but wouldn't present a shot for Dad. The gaggle of birds hung around for a few more minutes, before moving off.

It was great to have Dad there with me. I had some high profile misses last year during deer season, Dad had started to call me Vegetarian. He is one of those guys that shoots 2 arrows and is ready to go for the season. I like to shoot 3d league and practice a few times a week so when I miss, I hear about it.

Man you leave for a few days and bam. This thread blows up. LOL Nice job on the bird Hoss. Ive still got about 3 weeks before I can get out. I tried to film my bow hunt last year but was only able to film the one I killed with a shotgun. I did manage to get one doe kill on film also. Lot harder that it looks.

I PMed Bloodcrick about using a second bird if it's bigger. I pulled my score off the Score page for now. So it will be at least a 51 if not better when I submit a score.

That's not bad at all. We had about .7" of rain/snow. Day ended really nice though.

Spent most of the day outside with kids yesterday, actually got a little sunburn on my face up here in VT!

On another note, I hunted 2200 acres in Missouri a few years ago, made up of 5-6 farms as part of a group lease/club type set up. We ended up getting out if it because there were too many guys involved, well we just found out that the guy running the show is getting out if it and we will likely have first dibs. This place is LOADED with turkeys! Should have details in a few days, and I will be finding time to head out if it all comes together!

    Unionville is up there.
That is north of my folks place. Their place is in Macon County.
Good hunting in that part of the state.
