    Good luck Nate.

I took the wife out yesterday for the last day. We had a beard come running in after about 10 min. Only he circled around the decoys and headed right to us as my wife drew back. Well he spotted us and that was the end of that. Only saw hens for the rest of the day. And with that my season is in the books. Good luck to the rest of ya Ill be cheering you on. Ill be in California next week, I think Ill take some of my deer sausage to share with all the bunny huggers. lol

Got out for a few hours this past Saturday had two bird gobbling but couldn't get them to cross the creek onto my property. Three weeks left of my season I have a wedding I'm in this weekend so not sure I will be able to get out.

Might be a good thing.. They weren't even the turkey I've been hearing. Hopefully I find my arrow.

Thanks, It's raining now and the birds have gone quiet. Hopefully they start splitting from the hens here soon.

Well I've been hunting hard lately with little to no luck. My dad has been hunting one of our properties pretty regularly and has seen 3 toms together for the last couple nights so I figured I'd go out with him for the night. We set up and started calling, nothing at first then 3 gobbles. about 6:15 we heard them fly over the creek behind us, first one came out but my dad was not able to get a shot, he looked out the back window and seen the other two coming, strutting right toward the field. He drew back and as soon as they hit the field he shot the bigger of the two. Bird had a 10 1/4 inch beard, 1 inch spur, 1 1/8 spur but only weighed 18 LBS!! Anyways, being a teenager in highschool that plays 2 sports and trying to kill a bird myself, it gets hard to get out in the woods with my dad but I couldnt be happier to be there with him to get his 2nd turkey with a bow. Awesome hunt! And yes, his hair is long but he is donating it to locks of love.:fro: Screen Shot 2016-05-04 at 8.46.50 PM.jpg Screen Shot 2016-05-04 at 8.44.55 PM.jpg Screen Shot 2016-05-04 at 8.45.58 PM.jpg

Those are great days! Tell you dad congrats and really a nice bird! Sounds like some seasons have ended and some are right in the middle. I've got 9 days left to hunt. Gun season is over, archery only now but still fun. May get out another day to two but probably not much. Good news is we're the only team with 3 birds in the books so far!

Well I'm a little disappointed in myself right now. Got out bright and early this morning.. Start of the morning was a little slow but around 7 had a nice long beard with about a 9-10 inch beard come in with a hen. Got him at about 30 yards and missed again. Saw feathers fly even, but I'm pretty sure I missed.. Tough pill to swallow for me this morning.

Well fellas. Just got back home from Cali last night. The whole time my wife was looking towards the coast line I was looking in the mountains for game. Anyways fun trip and not cheap compared to Texas. Hows the hunting been. I was hoping to see some more beards on our wall. How is everyones seasons going? I guess they are wrapping up in May for most still open.

Where did you go in Cali? Nothing is cheap out here which is why I'm seriously considering relocating after retirement. Just need to wait another 11 years or so! Unfortunately it will probably come quicker than I think.

we started in San Fran and drove down to San Diego stopping in Monterey and LA. Weather was awesome and to see in person a bunch of cars Ive only seen in magazines was pretty cool. Id like to do a Wash. Ore. and N Cali tour one day too. Out of all the big cities San Diego I liked the best.
