Welcome to the party Bigtine! We've got a full team now so that's awesome? Looks like 2 votes for Decapitation Inc. Any luck tonight Hoyt?

Almost.... 3 days, 9 hours. I can almost taste it! Actually I can. My wife needed ground turkey to cook something the other night and I dug out our last package. She almost freaked out thinking we didn't have anymore. I told her, boy for someone that doesn't want to go hunting with me, you sure are lucky the season opens in a couple days huh!

Thankfully (usually) lol my wife loves to hunt and fish. I still have my trips with the guys, theres a group of us at work that try to make a trip somewhere every year. As for meat in the freezer. We haven't had turkey in a while but I just finished all my deer about 3 weeks ago. 100 lbs dried sausage and 100 lbs of fresh sausage. 27 lbs of bacon, pork ribs and a pigs worth of pork chops. I didn't make any summer sausage or buck sticks this year. Hopefully Ill have my processing room built this year. Then I can make it all at my own place.

Ok so when I got off work this morning I decided to go to the sporting goods store to get some long blade broad heads. All they had was the muzzy MORE turkey blades. Thats fine its got a 3"cut. Fast forward. 4:30 head out and pull up to my spot. Damn the luck I see 2 strutters close by. I park and start walking, they headed in the brush. I got decoys set and started calling for the hell of it. 30 sec later I see a head coming through the grass. He walks out to my decoys to check them out. I quickly get my new Muzzys on the arrow and load up. Had gobbler at 25 yards, chirped a little he stopped aimed just below head and let it fly. Have you ever kicked a punching back with all you had. Thats the sound I heard and saw my bird hobbling off with an arrow sticking out of him. So I ran him down and the rest is a bird on the board boys. Pics coming shortly.

Almost forgot.. In my buying excitement I made a rookie mistake and didn't check the grains of the arrow head. I shot a 125 and Im sighted for 100s. Thats the cause of the low shot. I tried to stay true to our perhaps team name lol

Nice work hoytx! We will be waking up to 12-18" of snow here tomorrow morning. Feeling a little less like turkey hunting!

You live in south Texas. Although I know it can get cold down there, I wouldn't expect much snow.
