I know this is a bowhunting site, but how many of you are going to drag out that trusty old shotgun and head off to the woods. I love to bow hunt turkeys, but I also like using old faithful too. It's sort of like a tradition for me to take at least one turkey every spring with my shotgun. Any of you share the same view?

Last year I only hunted with my bow. This year I applied for a second permit, so I'll probably use my landowners permit that is good for all of the season for my bow, and use the permit restricted to one season for the shotgun.

I can not friggin wait for turkey season. Last year I killed 2 with a shotgun, but this year, I want to take one with my bow for the first time. I have never taken one with a bow.

I'm pumped! I got an old 20ga single shot that my Dad bought for me like 12 years ago. I am peppering some turkey targets really good up to about 40 yards. I usually never put enough time into turkey season but that is going to change this Spring. Good Luck to everyone this Spring.

I don't really have much ambition to shotgun hunt birds anymore, I got nothing against it, hell I will be taking a few guys with the boom stick this spring. I do enjoy being out in that time of year and toting the bow. I'd rather have the video camera or box call in my hand though.

I'm with ya, Dink. NO offense to anyone who hunts them with a shotgun. Been there - done that.....and it's not for ME.

Going sans the blind, this year (unless I have guests). Just "getting one" isn't important.

    Good luck to all!

I haven't taken a boom stick to the woods in 5 years. Be it turkey or deer. Dove is it.

Turkey hunting is one thing that I enjoy with bow or gun.

We have no shortage of turkeys around here, so you have plenty of time to try with each weapon.
