So who has plans of going out?
Will you be traveling, staying private or going public land?

Hour and half ride back to Jersey starting April 21! Probably public. May hunt Maryland just because they start 3 days earlier, but will focus on Jersey, more birds less pressure. Good luck this season OND

I'll likely walk out the backdoor, climb the mountain side in the dark and witness the woods awaken. I may even shoot a turkey or just at one. Missed 2 last year, sat in a pile of ashes and flogged myself as punishment, so I should be solid this year.

    Lol
I took my first cross bow bird last year, so will give it ago again this year. I even finally found the bolt in late summer. Rough winter so I'm hoping most survived and we have a dryer spring.

I will try it again this year, I have to admit that it is more intense than I expected.

I will go out on our property, April 15th is the opener.
More excited for this year than normal, my 11 y.o. has gone out with me the last couple years but this year he'll be legal to hunt too. Really hoping to call up some birds close for him. With his being under 17, Idaho has a youth season that opens a week before the main season. So, we'll be out the weekend of April 12 to try to call him up a bird.
He has been out with me a few times, he has heard them gobble back and has laid eyes on some that just wouldn't quite come into range. He even did some calling with me last year on his own box call. But he has not gotten to see one come in running and then strut around the decoy. Focus will be getting one to do that for him, hopefully followed by some flopping around on the ground.
