I was driving home from work yesterday and seen about 15 turkeys in a field about 2 miles down from my house, there was a few toms strutting! after a few beers I started thinking.. Would it be more likely for somebody to allow you to bow hunt turkey instead of deer? I've never asked for anyone's permission to hunt turkey, I'm personally just getting into turkey hunting this year. I'm trying to find out who owns the field and see if they will allow turkey hunting. I've seen guys goose hunting in the field so I assume the owner isn't against hunting and as long as the goose hunters are not turkey hunters the owner would probably allow it. But out of curiosity have you had better luck gaining permission to hunt turkeys than you have had for hunting deer?

Yes where I live turkey hunting isn't nearly as popular as deer hunting so rarely have I had trouble getting permission to hunt properties for turkeys.

Unfortunately for me its the opposite. Its easier to get permission to hunt deer than turkey. Several of the dairy farmers complain about deer doing damage but they like watching the turkeys strut and hearing them gobble in the spring. But for either it never hurts to ask.

It's easier to get permission for turkeys rather than for deer, for me anyways.

Obviously it all depends on your location and the landowners/hunters in your area.
