I use all kinds of obsidian, chert, flint, and I am trying some Agates.
aluminum piece screws into your arrow I buy from archery supply
real sinew, pine pitch, and I do put a modern epoxy on them to start
they have gone thru pigs shoulders and into trees w/o breaking.
Some have broke, and some have been thru multiple animals.

we always joke about that, but they make huge holes.
we joke about making a folding knife too.
I think this one is my opening morning head for my compound = I will have recurve too. Last Spring my bird circled out too far for my recurve so I shot with compound. It has 2" and 1-15/16" hooks; glad I did

I made a video of fieldpoint accuracy with
    a big flint knapped head
shot at 15 yds out of my Hunter
which is normal turkey killing distance (DSD helps with that). I am no expert on shooting a compound, and I was aiming at the little turkey but both arrows hit pretty darn close
this head being shot was a "throw away" unbalanced and dull= never finished the knapping on it because it failed my inspection ;)
    but still does well!

    I like BIG Kinetic Energy.
100 grains are made also by me, but .....

    thanks
I really don't care what guys shoot as long as they are confident as they shoot em. One cool thing about these is they dont HAVE to open = no chance of a failure ;)

    thanks for the positve words!
    enjoy the Spring!
