I took my boys turkey hunting last week on Thursday and Friday since they were both off from school. My youngest (Jake) went during youth season about a week earlier, but we were unsuccessful in getting him a bird. However, he enjoyed it and wanted to tag along with his older brother (Joey) during our hunt. Thursday, we saw a ton of birds and had some close, but they just didn't want to commit to the decoys. The closest one was about 35 yards with a bunch of others in that 40-50 range. They can be frustrating suckers! Friday was a different story, though. We had a group of 4 birds come into the decoys around 10:30 or so. They put on a show for us and after coming to full draw and having to let down 4 or 5 times for one reason or another, Joey finally got a shot and made it count. The bird went 20 yards and expired. His buddies hung around for probably an hour and a half after that, but would never get close enough for me to get a shot at. They gobbled probably a hundred times and that's no exaggeration. It was a fun show to watch and the boys had a blast. It's times like these that belong in the "Best Things In Life" thread.
Definitely lifetime memories made for everyone. Congrats to your son! Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
