Hi guys, I wanted to ask more experienced hunters about some public areas (BLM or national forest or whatever else) that they hunted turkeys. Can you guys share some locations? I'm not asking to give up your favorite spot of course, but to point me in some direction. I found there is Laguna Mountain near Hollister that they claim to have turkeys but I haven't found any reports, also Clear Lake in Mendocino county but again no reports from there either. Can you share some knowledge with a newbie hunter? thanks
It's been a long time, but I used to ride dirtbikes at Hollister Hills and there always a bunch of turkeys running around on the way up there and across the street from the entrance. Other than that I don't think you will find much help in the way info, not a whole lot of people on here from Cali. Good luck. I will be turkey hunting Sunday morning, then hopefully, at least, seeing some deer in the evening.
