I live in North East and Ohio and was wondering what would be the best seed to plant in a small spring food plot for turkey. I need something that is fairly easy to manage and grows well in colder weather. In early April/ may the average temp is around 50-60. The seed needs to be fully grown by Late March, Early April . (Also when would be the best time to plant?)

Start with a frost seeding of clover. That is if your land isn't too weedy or grassy. I find they like trefoil and Burnette as well.
A spring oat/pea depending on your season dates
That said if none of that is possible, simple till up some ground and leave it. They love scratching around in good soil especially after rains
