As I have only used the peep with the tube, I am a bit reluctant to try a tubeless type. I have heard that the tubeless have a smaller hole. Helping the shooter to 'zone' in on their target. What do ya'll have to say about this? I have heard some people having issues with a tubeless peep not 'lining' up at full draw. Thanks everyone.
You can get different sized peeps to meet your preference. As far as them not lining up sometimes with new strings they will stretch or twist which will make a tubeless peep turn on you at full draw. The best thing to do would be to shoot a new string about 50-100 times to get it broke in good and if you peep rotated on you just have the shop reset it in the string. I am using a 3/16 g5 and love it. A lot quieter than the slap if the tube. As far as speed you only get about 3-4 fps faster but ultimately it's your decision
I'm from your neck of the woods. What part of East Tn. you from? Anyway, I like the G5 Meta peep. I like the old design better than the new. I also like pine ridge archery peep tubes they have. Like said above....you can get any size you want.
I have a tubeless on mine with a smaller diameter hole it does help "zone" in i guess you could say. Its all about aim small, miss small right? And as stated, you will get some rotation but its only for a short time. I got my string broken in within a weekend and it has never rotated since!
Most of the new strings these days stretch very little if any and you can often get away with not using the tube any more. G5 Meta Peep is the way to go for me. Was about fed up with the old dry rotting tubing back in the day anyways!!
Call me old school but I've never been able to get a tubeless peep to work for very long. I've tried it several times and they always wind up not aligning properly. So I just stick with the tube type. Blessings.......Pastorjim Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Personal preference I guess? Ive had both but lIke a tube because I dont have to 2nd guess If Its gonna lIneup
Tubeless...don't have problems with alignment. I can't get used to the idea of a stretched tube aiming at my eye. Can't imagine how that would feel if it broke...
G5 meta tubeless for me. I got a new bow recently with a peep tube and took it off. If you set up a tubeless properly and have a decent string you'll have no issues. Plus I'd hate for that tube to break a smash me in the eye, I wouldn't need a peep then Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
G5 here as well. If you have trouble with lining up... here's a trick I learned. Leave the tag ends on your loop and serve them down in perfect alignment with the peep and your alignment will never change.
I agree. I started with a tube, but switched without issue. If your d-loop is tied right, you can correct any issues if it were to twist.
Haven't used a tube in years. With the newer string materials, after the string been shot in, peep rotation isn't an issue with proper installation.
I just had my string re-served and a new D Loop installed due to string stretch and the serving separating after I had put about 150 or so arrows through my new bow. Peep was rotated out of alignment badly. Now life is grand and everything is straight as an arrow (pun intended).
Great reminder Sneaky, if you are using a D-loop most of the time your string won't rotate which keeps that peep in line.
I go tubeless because I've heard horror stories about the tube snapping and hitting someone in the eye I've never seen it but I would be the guy that it would happen to so I stay away. Plus as guys have said with modern strings you won't have a problem with peep rotation after you train it.
Hunted one time with a tube and never again. Hiked long way to my stand and at full draw I realized my tube broke in the dark hiking in. Must of snagged a bush and didnt realize it. What a pain in the ***. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
