Actually, when I was still active, if I gave an order that was not in a time of combat that did not make sense, I would expect someone to question it. If one of the officers appointed over me gave an order that did not make sense, I questioned it every time. There are many things that are allowed on airlines that could do more harm than a 2" toy gun.
