I just picked up my first bow and would like to learn how to properly shoot it. Eventually, I want to deer hunt with it. The bow is a Matthews FX I made sure the draw length was correct before I bought it.I also bought a good release. Any pointers of where to start or who I could possibly contact. I live in NE illinois about 10 miles from the wisconsin border.

Did you have your bow tuned by a bow tech ... highly recommended? A good bow tech or experienced buddy can give you a "hands on" crash course on the basics and get you on the right track to very enjoyable new hobby/obbsession. If you don't get your bow/arrows tuned specifically for you, your accuracy and consistancy will not be near as good as it should. Good luck!!
