Plus Trump has a point too often the US takes people in with a plan to fix the problem later. Just once I would like to see our Gov't have a solution in place BEFORE we allow people in rather than the way it is done now. Developing it locally has to be way cheaper than buying it from other countries. The point being, you would collectively piss off the entire world by shutting down the borders. They need us more than we need them. Without the US buying their products the world economy would tank and they would come crawling back to us.
I'm not saying you're wrong, there is a problem and it has to be dealt with. But Trump and other people yell these extreme measures to be taken without looking at the big picture. They do this because they don't have to, they can just criticize the people that do. If Trump does end up being president, I sincerely hope he does close the border to all Muslims so he has to deal with the aftermath. umm, no. This is a OIL driven economy, without it we are screwed. Closing the border is on my top 3 also, but just slamming it shut will have consequences, I want to know what they are and how they will effect my family. If unemployment goes through the roof, a terrorist will be the least of our concern.
Basically, yes. Take a look at how much of their economies are dependent on us, 76% of Canada's exports and 67% of imports are with us. What are they going to do without the US? And we have the resources to be self sufficient if we want, we choose not to because of cost. Also look at how much of the world food supply the US produces.
Longer than they can hold out without the US imports and exports. And of them we are the only one with a military capable of going and taking more if we decided.
