We are a nation of no-action. The parents don't want to discipline their kids for fear of making them mad. They want to be their friend instead of kicking their butts when they need it. Our politicians are much the same. They don't want to make anyone too terribly angry, because they might not get the donations they need to get re-elected into a comfy job. We talk and talk and then do nothing.

Honestly, there are nearly as many teens killing themselves and others EVERY SINGLE DAY as we lost to a shooting in Florida. They are killing themselves and others by using phones behind the wheel. We have a very easy fix for that issue and still do NOTHING. It boggles the mind. To think that we will have anything of substance come from the much more complicated issue of school shootings is scary at best. This is a terribly complex issue that is deeply rooted in the foundation of our values and twisted sense of normalcy. I can not even imagine what my father would of thought of a video game that involved the shooting of another human being. Not to mention something like Grand Theft Auto where you can race around blasting hookers. I mean seriously, how far down in the cesspool have we come from the time that we got up on Sunday's and went to church as a family and then went back to Grandma and Grandpas place for the afternoon fried chicken feed? When did getting an abortion become normal? When did we lose all authority to discipline kids in school? We got our rear ends beat with a wooden paddle by the principal. Or, we knew someone that did and knew that we had no desire to make the same mistake. We got our knuckles cracked by a ruler for pulling the hair of the girl in front of us. We didn't do it twice. At the moment, as a country, we kind of suck. Most folks don't want to admit how we got there.

I don't disagree with you, we tend to offer simple solutions to complex problems, we say just arm the teachers. Well there may be consequences to that, like hitting a student. Makes one think.

Sure my daughter drives a Lincoln MKZ and has the software built in that I control. She is not notified when she is text or called, unless the call is from me or her mother. For texting it auto reply's "I am driving now, will contact you later"

FYI I did not buy my daughter a Lincoln MKZ, when my MIL died she left it to my daughter. I drive a 2013 focus and my daughter drives a 2016 Lincoln, lol.

For my truck which she drives I got Cell Control, it took some time to get it right, but it's working now.

We just got these in all of our work trucks. However, as of today it's not mandatory to use.

Obviously it's as simple as not putting it in the case but.

Well, I think you can get your joints in that but it's not going to get very much beer or hard liquor in it.

Here's a thought, maybe these citified twats can start trying to educate the next generations with an appreciation for life. Kids are spat out from birth facing education based in evolutionism that teaches racism, an ideology of zero self worth, depression based on an ideology of zero optimism for life or life after death or any appreciation or respect for a higher power and life in general and absolutely zero ground to real life and nature.
As far as evolution is concerned, we're all just bags of chemicals that happened by accident that are here to make more walking bags of chemicals to perpetuate the race and ruin the environment.

Compound that with the liberal foundations of modern society where there are no genders, no sense of right or wrong and being liberalized slaves of the state facing a life of government control paying infinite taxes and no real freedoms and it's no wonder people hit a point that they snap and want to murder people in mass. These pre-adults especially are hitting this reality at a fragile time when they aren't mentally developed enough to cope with these things and their ultimate coping mechanism is to say effit and compensate radically with a mass murder. They are literally attacking the institution that is the immediate source of their despair. These factory schools are as gross of an unnatural paradigm as livestock feed lots.

And to "solve" the problem...rather than solve the real problem...adults decide it best to squeeze harder and make more controlling regulation. I'm sure that will help...lets make more compounding controls and stay completely oblivious to the cause of mental health degeneration in our society.

No shortage of controversial content in that post so fire away.

What's interesting to read is the trained deputy did not go in the school the six minutes the attack lasted? He just stood outside?

I have no idea how I would respond, but talking about what you would do and actually being in the line of fire are to very different things.

Exactly. It’s the fight or flight response, A person has zero control of that. We like to think what we would do. But when the **** hits the fan, you don’t know how you gonna react to the situation until you are in it.

I’ve experienced this first hand on a few occasions. A few times in Iraq when we came under attack. Small arms fire was coming in in the middle of the night, I first got down and took cover instead of going to my battle position. After a few seconds I was able to think, get up and run to my foxhole.

Another instance was a car accident that happened in front of me. I’ve been had went up over the guard rail and roll down and embankment. Without even thinking I pulled over jump the guard rail and ran down to try to get them out. My wife and kid were in the car with me. One other person came down to help, but my wife said a few people ran to the guard rail and just froze in their tracks.

While this deputy is a paid trained professional, he is also human. In situations like this, training is supposed to take over and you were just supposed to react. That’s why we train so much so we don’t think, just act. ****ty situation all the way around.
