I don't think it' fair to say those kids were told what to say and ask. I'm sure they had several meetings with their peers and decided which topics they would like to cover like anyone getting ready for a national televised town hall would.

Do you think the kids will have the attention span to remember when they are old enough to vote? Funny how they blame the gun rather than their peer that pulled the trigger? Do people want to see mentally ill people incarcerated? Guess it is easier to take a right from law abiding, responsible citizens.

It's not, but has nothing to do with kids getting slaughtered in School. It's way to deflect and not have to answer the tough question.

The liberals feel it is a choice to end a life and the gov't should subsidize it. The liberals also feel that the kid that killed 17 should not face the death penalty.

Maybe not fair... But I certainly don't believe a teenager at a public televised event after a tragedy such as this would ask Marco Rubio if he will not accept money from the NRA moving forward. They should not be concerned about that. The democrats are concerned about that and 100% told/asked that kid to ask that.

Mental illness and insurance coverage is the real issue. The reason why people don’t/won’t get therapy/help is the $75 co payment per session

OK no more high capacity clips, not infringing on GUN rights with that. Move gun purchase, voting, etc to age 21, applies to the military as well.

Mental illness and objects that cause death will always exist in America.

One point that nobody wants to discuss is how many people are alive because of guns.

Ironic that with each mass shooting gun sales surge?

How big of a role does social media play in these mass killings?

True, but with the proper therapy, some of these slaughters can be prevented.

I saw a stat that stated more people are killed with knives than rifles.

While the WH "listening session" seemed legit, in one of the earlier interviews of one of the kids the new media darling is on video clearly rehearsing lines and asking for re-takes while the "reporter" can be heard encouraging him and telling the camera crew to edit things. Here's another kid claiming his CNN interview was manipulated and scripted:

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/v...fter_denying_question_about_armed_guards.html

Doesn't mean they are all rehearsed but does indicate that at least some are. Kids are easily manipulated and often overreactive- especially teens. It's why they shouldn't be allowed to buy guns-or vote.

As to my other post Germ; what part was conjecture? The fact that multiple people filed lawsuits against the ExO banning them from owning guns and the DJT Administration wasn't going to waste taxpayer dollars defending a policy that is by most legal opinions overly broad and therefore unconstitutional?

Here's a story on that from NRA's American Handgunner- er wait...the ACLU??? WTH?!?!

    https://www.aclu.org/blog/disability-rights/gun-control-laws-should-be-fair

That bastion of a right-wing rag the Vox? Wait, they're Progressive? Say it ain't so...

    https://www.vox.com/the-big-idea/20...nd-disabilities-republicans-nra-obama-liberty

Sorry, here's the link for the NRA-artic- uhhh, what? The rabidly anti-gun Chicago Tribune???

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/...ntally-ill-gun-buying-ban-20170213-story.html

Ok, here's the NRA's. Really this time I swear.

    https://www.nraila.org/articles/201...-obama-ssa-finalizes-new-gun-prohibition-rule

Pretty sure when the ACLU, Prog Propganda rags and the NRA-ILA are all on the same side of an issue they are probably right.

So again, which part is conjecture? You must have been referring to the part that the previous administration sent tens of thousands of "assault" weapons to Mexico? Then some of those same weapons ended up killing American law enforcement and oh, BTW were also used in the Garland, TX mass shooting? Not to mention directly responsible for the deaths of thousands of Mexicans? For that let's go the the Red State red-meat rag the LA Times...

    http://www.latimes.com/nation/atf-fast-furious-sg-storygallery.html

Just look at those headlines. Which part was conjecture again? How about next time you open your eyes and read a little before you open mouth? Some facts might actually be involved in said transaction.

Possibly but mental therapy is not like physical therapy where an x-ray or MRI can reveal the ailment is healed. Mental therapy requires the patient to provide half the input into the therapy and that makes it challenging to see if the therapy is healing or a preventing a relapse.

Will find out in a few years if they remember. If they do, don't complain because we had our time to shore up the background check system, instead we left it broken and threw our hands up in the air and said "bad people to bad things, what can we do". This is entire different conversation if the shooters get the weapons illegally, because we as responsible gun owners could point out we have worked with government on all levels limit those who are not responsible and law abiding to not get a gun through the legal process. Will still happen, sure, but we could have done better.

Instead today we have a system that allows shooters to get everything they need to slaughter kids in school, it's pretty damn easy for them. Because we have holes every where in the background check system, from FBI, Army and local law enforcement. Did we demand they do better? No we simple said "Bad people do bad things".

Even the executive order for folks on the Government dime if they show mental disorder and are deemed not capable mentally of owning a gun by SS was too much to broad. People get bent of shape if some one buys Doritos or Coke with government money , but hey go get the Glock on our dime.

A shooter can get everything they need and we give the schools NOTHING to arm or protected the schools. Good news is Trumps budget proposed a cut in school funding, I don't think he knows that, but at least will save some money.

Every morning my wife goes to work as a public school teacher, she gets yelled at, called a lazy union worker, told she is over paid, has too much time off, and anybody can do her job. She's ridiculed and evaluated to the point I don't understand how she get's anything done. The bar is constantly moving on what the standard is for her, and when we do finally get some standards, well they are too tough and the bar moves again.
Now she's being ask to stand in front of a gum man if it happens are her school, she's being ask to be a solder in a class room, not Iraq, in the burbs of Michigan, if I was her, I'd tell conservatives to go **** them selves, but you know what she got up this morning and went to go teach.

In 5-10 years we are going to get gun control shoved down our throats I believe, we could have done something, we chose to do nothing.
