Well I think I am going to give into all this hype about thumb style releases and try one out for myself. I think that I am going to get a tru ball max pro 4 finger but if any one else has any opinions on one for a person new to thumb releases please post your thought. Also if anyone one has one for sale I may be interested!

I used Scott and TruFire wrist releases before switching to a Stan thumb release this year. I googled a lot of handheld release reviews, and YouTube'd many more. I picked the Stan for its build quality, design, adjustability, and ease of use.

It's a great release to start with. The head swivels and it's quiet. Just don't let it go! I have seen many people not used to thumb releases just let this release go.

good luck and let us know how you do.

I will probably be doing the same before I purchase.

Yep, im doing this same thing. It seems everyone is getting interested in the idea of switching to a thumb button. I do definitely consider myself a bandwagon on this because so many people are doing it. I'm thinking im gonna go with a hot shot vapor. My logic is, is so many bowhunters are making the switch and never looking back, there must be some major benefits to them. Just remember to shoot them and adjust them to your hand before you buy. Good luck!

I'd also suggest checking out a "Carter" handheld release aid, their offerings are really extensive.

Made the switch from wrist to a thumb myself , I tried several brands and just kept going back to try the Scott Exxus & Stan Shootoff , I like both just as good as the other so it basically came down to the best deal , I ended up getting the Exxus at an awesome deal ..

If you have a local shop , go by there and see if they will allow you to test a few ....
