the last two times I have checked my cam the batteries have been dead. the first time I checked it there where no pictures on it so I figured the batteries where bad and it died right away. I brought them home checked them and sure enough they where dead. This last time I did get pics, I got a lot of pics and they where all during the first night. after that no more pics and my batteries where dead so Im guessing this cam is draining batteries in one day! have any of you had problems like this? These are not lithium batteries but still one day just does not seem right.. I am guessing I am going to have to send it in, but I just want to make sure none of you have had this problem and found some easy fix short of hooking it up to a car battery or solar charger. Thanks in advance!

Same exact problem with my stealth cam "unit". I was very impressed with the first one so I bought a second. I thought I just bought bad batteries because they were dead after 1 week. So then I bought lithiums and they to were dead right away. I haven't had any problems with it until 3 weeks ago. Last week I sent it into stealth cam, but I haven't got my cam back yet. If they don't fix the problem, I'm switching to Covert!

I'm borrowing a buddies Stealthcam since 2 of my Bushnells are on bear baits 350 miles away.I tested it before I put it up and what a piece of junk.Yes, they eat batteries quickly and it takes a month of Sundays for them to trigger. The only good thing I can say is that the pic and video quality are good.

The same thing also happened to my Prowler XT a couple weeks ago It also had 0 pics. The picture counter showed that it started to take pics when I walked up to it, but it locked up . I couldn't even get the menu screen to come up. I had to remove the batteries and put them back in before I could do anything. I walked infront of the cam a couple times, and everytime it started to take a picture, it locked up. The last time it did that it drained the batteries, so I put new batteries in it and a new SD card in it. This time it worked fine not locking up :) I put the SD card that was in the camera when it locked up back into the camera and now the camera locked up. So I found out that it was the SD card that caused the camera to lock up and drain the batteries.

I had a Stealth Cam Unit 2 seasons ago. It only lasted about 5 weeks before it completely died. I returned and and purchase a Moutrie M-80, which has worked very well.

Had an archers choice that I just sent in that would eat 8 duracell's in about 2 weeks and less than 300 pics. They got my camera on the 14th of august and I still don't have it. I called they didn't even process it until the 21st and they thought I should have it late next week. Another reason to buy covert! I would have had a new cam in a week.

I also have the archers choice, I noticed that it will eat batteries depending on the setting. I changed it to a 6 round pic burst and then 1 min recovery and once I did that it last fine. I was also using the lithium batteries though. Hope this helps

I put out my Stealthcam and it completely drained the batteries in two days. It took maybe ten 20 second videos.

I think stealthcam is actually a battery company... or mines lithium. ;)

Yep, its a serious problem with those cameras. I've sent my shadow sniper back to be fixed 2 times in the last month and now my Unit won't go more than a day before the batteries are dead.

I won't be buying any more of those for sure.

If it was a good camera you shouldn't have to do that. I keep my coverts on 3 pic burst with 15 second recovery. Well over 10,000 pics on them with 100% battery still. I've read lots of people having the same problem with the archers choice.
