I have a 5 pin truglo sight but by the time I back up to 40 yards my pin is at the bottom of the housing. I know I should expect this with a 52# bow and a 25" draw. I shoot about a 6 inch group at 40. I would like to shoot farther so 20 and 49 yards seem easier. What should I do? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Without cranking your bow up or anything maybe try to put your 20 pin at the very top of the sight and then adjust the whole site to get your 20 dialed in and then move your other pins from there….that might give you a little more room to work with
I know I can and I already have done this when I originally sighted my bow in. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
Not much you can do. I have the same sight and can only get out to about 55 yards at 70 pounds. Drop the sight as low as possible and raise the top pin for 20. After that... you have to set the additional pins as far as you can. I would think you can at least get to 40. How heavy are your arrows? You could try shooting smaller targets at close range... same effect. Try shooting lifesavers at 20 yards... that should keep you busy for a while.
When I got new strings on my bow last year and was sighting in the guy at the shop noticed I was about bottomed out on my sight. He told me my anchor point was to high. I shoot a thumb release and was putting my first knuckle at my ear load. He had me drop it down to my jaw line and it moved my pins about 2' at 20 yards. It took a little getting used to but I have noticed to difference in my groupings out to 60 yards. I have only been hunting 4 years and don't know all the technical stuff that many on here do but thus worked for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
