I have been bow hunting for 14 yrs all 14 with the same Hoyt I purchased new each season open it up shoot a few times to make sure everything is good and almost always adjust nothing, this year decided to get a new Hoyt and went with the nitrum 30 70lb pull arrows are gold tip expedition hunter 5575/400. I am having a real hard time to put 4 arrows in a good group from 20 yards I was thinking it was me but have now shot it 6 or 7 different times and same results. Any chance it's the arrows I am shooting or possible the bow needs to break in? Someone I know mentioned that to me. Thanks guys for any advice
At first glance, It looks like your arrows are under spined. What is the actual draw weight and draw length? Also how much weight are you shooting up front on your arrows?
you need to be around a 350 spine. I shoot 27.5" draw length, 70 pounds, with a 350 spine. my last spine was 340. Another thing i would check is if your bow is in tune. New bow strings have a tendency to stretch which throws everything out of place. So make sure your bow is tuned proper.
Definitely light on the spine. And if you just pull it straight from the box I'm sure the tune is far from perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They set it all up at the archery shop for me but it feels like the string has stretched a bit because it's a hair too long on me draw length wise now where it was set perfect. Thanks for the help guys gonna see about getting different arrows and have them look at it.
Got the same bow as you this year, it did need some fine tuning, especially the yoke. I switched to a 330 HEXX at 28" long and the bow shoots well after the tweaking was done a little on the bow tuning.
I went and got new arrows local shop said 300 arrows 29" with 70lb seamed heavy to me but I bought 1/2 dozen going to shoot tonight see how it goes. I had went to a smaller local shop and bought arrows originally they suggested the 400 guess next time I will research it myself before spending the money,
