With my research so far I think I'm between Jamaica, Cancun, and Punta Cana. My cousin is getting married in June and going to Jamaica so I'll see how he likes their resort. I always trust word of mouth over the reviews I read online because you never know who is actually writing them.

I know of 4 couples that have been to jamaica in the last 2 years and all have loved it but they said you are pretty much not leaving the resorts

I think I'm okay with not necessarily leaving the resort. My girlfriend isn't necessarily an explorer and is pretty content with just chilling on the beach or around the pool and drinking. I'll probably still try to do a couple things included with the resort package such as snorkeling, scuba diving, and maybe golfing so at least there are still some cool activities to do inside the compounds of the resort. It's too bad that all of the beautiful places are so bad off economically to where poverty and crime are so high. Obviously anyone not native has a bullseye on their back and are easy to pick out so I'd much rather be safe than sorry.
