I purchased this rest early last year with high hopes. It looked like, and is, a great concept. The problem I found with it is that on bows shooting faster than 320 fps, the revolution doesn't rotate fast enough to clear the fletchings. I tried tuning it many times and gained a little but not enough to alleviate the problem. Again I believe it's a great concept poorly executed for todays faster bows. Looks like QAD Ultrarest HDX will remain my favorite and mosf dependable fall away rest.
I may be wrong but I think for most guys out there, their hunting set ups aren't shooting 320+, I'm sure some are. I have the revolution on my bow and I'm shooting 280 and have had zero problems. Ive only had it for one season but have nothing bad to say about it from my experience so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm sure that if you're shooting under 320 fps it's fine. But for those of us shooting over that this rest doesn't get around in time. The risk of an errant shot is to high for me to recommend it for faster bows.
I feel sure most guys shooting 320fps+ probably are not using the Revolution anyways and as states above, the majority of hunters aren't shooting above 300fps so there probably aren't many people out there having this issue with this rest. Thanks for sharing though. I'm sure someone will find it helpful to know.
I've had no problems with mine. Well did have one issue...the broadheads that came with my bow package were bunker buster's and they have this collar that goes over the arrow and the collar interfered with the rest so it was either longer arrows or different broadheads so i went with the different broadheads. Mechanically mine has had no problems but I'm nowhere near 320 fps and I'm okay with that :D
I guided 2 guys last spring for black bear, they both used this rest (two brothers) and for one of them about every 10th shot he took the rest kinda seized up and only rotated 3/4 of the way, i think that was a manufacturing fault though. It cliped the fletchings when that happend and send the arrow straight to the ground about 20 feet in front of him, however thats the only time ive heard of someone havin a problem with that rest, for everyone else its worked fine.
I have had great luck so far with my Trophy Ridge Revolution rest. Rotates and "locks in" the arrow nicely.
It could very well be I got a faulty rest from the manufacturer. All I know is that I can't take a chance with it if it's not getting around fast enough to clear my fletchings.
