I was lucky enough to kill my first buck back home and Trevor was nice enough to come down to capture the moment. He is really good at what he does. Even with it being dark and rainy he got some good pictures of my ugly self. Lol [IMG]

You were absolutely right when you said you are not able to see a difference. I'll leave it at that.

There's a difference. I try to make them half way tasteful. something I can show to my grandma without her shaking her head. It's funny cause I saw some pics of me with one of the first nice bucks I ever killed and my hands and the antlers were covered in blood. whatever but woulda been nicer if I took a little time to at least clean all the blood off.

In Wisconsin we use to have to keep it where the deer was in view when transporting it. Since I grew up this way I don't have a prob with back of the pickup pictures. The tongue hanging out does get under my skin though.

I can't believe the holier than thou attitude many guys have on here.
It's like a truck bed photo is going to set the hunting world back 100 years politically.
It's simply not true, yes there are some people out there that are over sensitive to these types of pictures, but the people that are going to be offended are going to be offended no matter what.
What we shouldn't do is throw shade on a small percentage of the population that shares our passion of outdoors and hunting because your personal preference of pictures differs from someone else.

That to me is more distasteful than the type of pictures discussed here

I'm not here to start arguments, put people down, or tell anyone how to to anything. Everyone has their own opinion and way of doing things. I've never seen this topic discussed and was curious to see what other people thought. I just love a picture of a downed animal in the environment that it was taken from. As I said sometimes there's just not a whole lot of time or whatever the case may be. I'll be the first to congratulate someone for shooting a deer and would never (throw shade onto someone) for a photo. I just simply like photos of killed deer in their natural environment, just personal preference and I was curious to everyone else's thoughts and preference.

The fact that some on here are equating those of us that dislike truck bed photos to despising those that do them or like we sit and worry and lurk waiting to pounce on them is HILARIOUS!

Hi, my name is Ty, I despise truck bed photos...but I lose exactly 2 seconds a year of sleep over them and that is rounding up from zero.

    :lmao:

You shouldn't worry about what other people do, and what makes their trophy photos special to them. I take a photo of any deer I harvest in the back of my truck because my papa gave it to me when I was 16 and he passed away when I was 19 when I was on deployment in Iraq and I didn't get to go to his funeral. So me taking that picture is the closest I can get to ever sharing a hunt with him again. Just be happy you have the RIGHT to do what YOU want to do, and not worry about what other people do.

Hunters need to learn to police ourselves instead of accusing someone of throwing shade.

No one is asking you to defend the truck bed photos. What we're saying is there are much better ways to present the deer, which is the truth.

Modern day hunters have to start getting better at presenting these things to the outsiders. We continue to take the same quality, or worse, photo that was in deer camp a decade ago. The difference is now it's shared for all to see and most likely available for a very long time. Spend some time scrolling through instagram and you will see why this is important.

More and more people are becoming disconnected and it's our job to show that the connection still exists whether that's through a story or a photo. That's how things improve and how hunting survives.

    Rant over.

Jake/PA so so true, undeniably true in my opinion. Wired To Hunt just had a podcast centered around this...personally speaking I despise truck bed photos for the fact I know myself personally want to remember harvests as best I can and capture the moment in as "awesome" a way as I can...and a truck bed picture is not it.

The second aspect of why I'm not a fan is as you stated with the immediate social media aspect of society, you share that photo you need to understand what occurs or can occur...not in ANY way shape or form defending the anti's or those that would receive it in an ill way, just pointing out we need to be cognizant of what we are putting out there.

Hunting is only as clean as we make it is my motto for most of my discussions with other hunters when it comes to how we interact with people, treat our hunting habits and decisions made afield and off-field...a lost aspect to some.

That doesn't count. This is a bow site. And, he's sitting way behind those to make them look bigger. Also, he's not smiling. Why would he not be happy? So many things wrong here....

Hey now, I have to sit way behind "it" to make "it" look bigger sometimes. Don't judge.

Take your trophy photo the way you want. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and people are easily offended these days, so no way to keep everyone happy.
