Even though I have one of the HME digital scales I didn’t buy it for this contest.

Im about as far south as anyone can get in the North zone for the contest. Our does are puny compared to the northern does.

Why? For a small investment in a scale that would come in handy anyway, you could win some pretty cool stuff.

Plus, you’re way up north where the “gals” are big anyway.

Just ordered my scale. After years of wondering how much my bucks weighed, figured I’d go ahead and buy this one and get two birds stoned

I weigh every doe I kill now. Not because of this contest, but because our hunting club has a big buck and a big doe pot that is paid into when we pay our dues. Plus, if I win my name goes on the plaque and I get to brag for a year.

If I happen to drop a 130-140 pound doe I’ll enter it in this contest, but that isn’t going to happen around here.

I’ll have to get in on this, I’ve been known to kill some giant does.

None as big as the ones JZ kills though.

I actually took a look at the info for last year’s contest and realized that I could have won the south section.

I killed a doe in Arkansas that field dressed 90 pounds 4 ounces and it never occurred to me to enter it since I live in Missouri.

I assume it’s based on where the deer is killed and not where the hunter lives.

Did you see the weight of the north winner last year? 135.2 pounds.

I’m lucky if the bucks I kill field dress 135.

So what is it actually about them that impacts the birds in such a manner? Sounds fun LOL

    You are probably assuming correctly.
I would attempt this this year seeing I will be hunting Northern TX, but I do not have the "Required" scale to weigh said does.
Probably still weigh and compare, and if it looks like it stands a chance, perhaps I'll buy the scale for next year. Not really sure how big the does get down here in my parts, but the ones on camera don't seem North of 80, thats for sure.

I mean to be fair I'd rather have two stoned birds than two turnips in heat :tu:

The HME Digital scale doesn’t cost that much, it packs easy and it comes in really handy.

I sure wish I’d had one when I killed my 2019 buck. I’ll always wonder what he weighed.
