Have two potential trips in mind sometime in the next year. One would be to fly to Seattle to visit a good friend and two would be fly to Vegas and drive to St. George, Utah and stay at my uncle's rental home (with the aforementioned friend).

Trip one he would pick us up and stay at his place so I wouldn't need to worry about hotel or car. Trip two we would both fly into Vegas and rent a car for the period we will be there.

April-early June and September-November isn't an option for me to be make this trip.

    Few questions:

    1) What's your go to website to find the best airfare?
    2) When is the best time to buy tickets? I've heard there are certain times of the day and days of the week to find the best deal.
    3) Any airlines to shy away from?
    4) Trip 2 - airline and rental car package the best route or find a car once we get there?
    5) Timing for these areas? I know Vegas can be dang hot in the middle of summer.

I've flown plenty but I'm all ears to any do's and don'ts and opinions that you guys have experienced.

St. George is great but super hot in the summer. Seattle is a city. Been to both.

I'd go to St. George but in the early summer.

I use Kayak a lot for flights. Flying mid week if you can is usually cheaper.

If you go on Suncountry airlines website, they fly to both Vegas and Seattle. The one good feature they have is they show you a Calendar and what the flight costs are for every day of the month. Certainly helps when choosing which day to fly.
