I have posted before and I am basically asking for a re look from dan or anyone really. In my 15 or so sits i have seen 2 non shooter bucks and 5 does.
I am goin to post a close up of the land,a far away view and a topo in hopes that i can get some good spots. The ones i have now just are not cutting it at all. I have a few pictures of tiny bucks but nothing to get excited about. Even walking both properties(in the snow) i still cant find deer sign(trails, scat, etc.) Any help would be so appreciated it is not even funny. I would like to start looking now for spots next year...(Also the crops rotate yearly as well)
I have asked like a million times everywhere and even bought a book and read to help. The topos are not very detailed at all. thanks!

The deer are working over my winter wheat right now bad! I say hit the winter wheat! Other than that I am a big hunter on funnel areas! I would trade a clump of woods for a funnel area any day!

I'd focus in that hickey that borders the winter wheat. But I also agree with dawg...funnels are $$!

This first property is pretty tricky related to acess. You could easily alert game getting to what appears to be prime spots. Would be interested to know how your acessing the property to hunt the areas you are currently. Here are my thoughts around places I would target going by the information you have provided. If you would like to PM me the address, I can play with Google Earth and fine tune my thoughts?

The second property is a little easier in my opinion to acess. You have the cow pasture to cover you some and some open acess points to sneak in. Not sure if you can park along the road but that would help with the evening spot. Here are my thoughts around that property.

I would walk the fields and see which fields the deer are most active in. If you have a field that also has some beds in it I would certainly key in on those. The beds in the fields would indicate that they are spending the greatest amount of time in them. With out that information its not the end of things though.

another thing to consider would be the moon. If you can hunt where the moon is dark at night or setting early into the night in the morning spots you would maximize your oppertunities. the deer would be more likely to ease back into the timber instead of beating you to your spot by moon light. In what appears to be open acess you are less likely to spook game on your way in.

I have found that on darker nights movement is typical first light to 10am and 3pm till dark. On bright nights movement has been between 10-2pm.

    Good luck,
    Dave
