I have an open shot. Just hate always looking for a perfect tree to climb. Its cost me more deer than I care to think of. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I've yet to meet a person who has tried both climbing sticks and prefers the Muddy. I'd be interested in your feedback once you get them and try them out.
And I've yet to see you endorse a product other than a sponsor of this BH.com. Lol Actually factually (I did that) you might have, I just love it when posts of products vs. other product come about and one happens to be a BH.com sponsor - I mean obviously I understand the logic/business side of it. But ask Joe Kickbucket what he thinks of said product and you will probably get a more true opinion when it comes to products vs. product. You see Joe Kickbucket just buys whatever he wants and if he doesn't like it he tries something else and eventually ends up with a good product on the market. In other words we have little doubt LW is a good tree stand - the price says it's good ala Nike shoes... Clearly a lot of products on the tree stand market that could meet ones needs. Let's not make some judgement that LW is better because they are a sponsor or something else - you will never be able to prove one being better than the other. Rant over
100% agree. muddy is a good stand but if you put them side by side or hang them LW is slightly better and no matter how you cut it the cast no weld LW design is better. the price difference is the difference IMHO the "seat/comfort" thing waay over blown and if given a choice i take the cast platform.... FWIW i can mitigate an uncomfortable seat cushion, but not bad welds or squeaky platform. BTW I DO NOT SELL LW OR ANY GEAR JUST SPEAKING FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF SOMEONE WHO HAS SPENT / EXPERIMENTED A LOT WITH THIS OBSESSON
He wasn't sticking up for lw. He just stated his opinion and asked him to review his thoughts on the 2 when he made the switch. Justin doesn't seem to be the kind of guy to be endorsed by a product that he didnt like very much. Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Lone Wolf Climbing Sticks and a Millenium M25 stand. IMO, Muddy nor Lone Wolf can beat this stand for comfort.
I do like that stand. Im afraid id fall asleep all the time. How mobile r they? Sent from my SCH-R970 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Calm down there killer. You're right to take anything I say with a grain of salt. Yes, Lone Wolf is a Sponsor so my opinion is somewhat biased. However I've made it a point to always state that I will never come in here and promote a product I don't believe in, or make statements/claims that aren't true. If one of our Sponsors has a product that I don't believe in 100% I simply don't post about it. So my advise is to watch more of what I don't say than what I do. With that said - I've used both the Muddy and Lone Wolf products (stands and sticks alike). I've hung them, hunted from them, tore them down and moved them, etc. While I can see the argument for the Muddy stand vs. the Lone Wolf simply based on cost alone I don't think the sticks are even close to stacking up. And like I said earlier - I've yet to meet a person who has used both and can honestly say they preferred the Muddy sticks. If you're that person then I guess you're the first. And if you want some non-Sponsor promos here's a few things I really enjoy using and think are good products - Axcel Armortech sights, CBE sights, Scott releases, Muddy camera arms, CamoFX face paint, Blacks Creek bow cases & packs, Wicked hand saws, HS grunt calls, Vortex binos, and Ponds makeup remover to get rid of my war paint at the end of the day.
I use a muddy hang on....lone wolf sticks....I love muddy but their sticks dont compare to lone wolf Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Well that was actually pretty calm. And as I've said many times before when product vs. product post come up thanks for your respectful response - you always keep it 100. Even when you always got several "online" cronies that come to the rescue. Oh and not a sponsor plug, I can't afford or choose not to afford is probably what I should say hang-on sticks. Usually the Ameristep (something like that from Rural King) screw in steps get the job done for me. So yes price factors into the equation and I can't imagine any way, shape or form that any hang-on stand could be any better than the Muddy Outfitter - the cheapest in the line. That being said, I find the seat to be semi comfortable at best but all anyone says is the Muddy is a lot more comfortable than the LW seat... So maybe at the end of the day the lesson is it really comes down to the person. If you can afford the LW and the LW sticks the afford them and decide for yourself. If your hunting on a budget then maybe you wanna stick with the cost effective Muddy - although Muddy offers some "higher end" stands as well.
Which lone wolf sticks? The regulars or the minis? I've only seen the minis and I didn't like them at all. I don't like the foot peg only turning to 1 direction. That's one thing that really sold me on the muddy, plus the rope system to attach them. I realize this is a chevy vs. ford battle but for my sake we'll go with muddy = ford and lone wolf = chevy (oh i hope we debate that next!!!)
I'm talking about the regular Lone Wolf sticks. I honestly don't know anyone who uses the minis and personally don't see any need for them to even exist. In theory the rope system is a great idea since there's no buckle so they're quieter. I do like that. However, having tried to get that rope around a tree that's bigger around than my arms I can tell you it's no easy task. With a strap that has a cam buckle on it you have some weight that you can swing to get it around the tree. With nothing but a limp rope it's a major pain. I struggled a few times trying to get that rope around the tree from one hand to the other.
