Any cheap tree stands out there? All I need is one with a seat and some way to get in the tree

    Yikes...

I bought a Gorilla hang-on out of Cabela's Bargain Cave a few months ago for like $60. Not sure if they have any of those left because I know Gorilla was updating their line of stands.

Agreed. Plus the cheapest stands are ussually heavy, loud, difficult to set up and take down, and don't last as long.

My Lone Wolf Stands will last a lifetime if I replace the straps every few years.

Gander Mountain (if you have one near you) usually has the Field & Stream series stands on sale quite frequently. I picked up two hang-ons for $50/piece in December.

I have a bunch of the "Sentinel" lock ons from D1cks's Sporting Goods at my camp. They are very small, and are not comfortable, but I have killed quite a few deer out of them over the last 3-4 years.

I am not a fan of the F&S stands, at least not the greenish ones sold at D ICK's Sporting Goods. GM has some of their brand that are quite nice. My gander is selling them for 35 bucks right now. I buy them as regularly as I can.

Yeah I should have stated they were D*ck's, not GM stands. What don't you like about them, Ben? I haven't hung mine, but my initial impressions out of the box were good.

I have only had one of them, but the grating didn't seem heavy enough(I am tipping the scales at 255 now a days, mind you:deer: ) and the bolts rusted pretty quick. Don't get me wrong, it just got placed in a tree a few days ago with new bolts in it, but the GM brand ones that they are selling for 35 bucks are way bigger and sturdier. I paid 59.99 for some of them last year and they have been selling them for a while now at 34.95 as I think they have a ton left from the Waddell thing last fall.

Ok, bolts are easy enough to replace if necessary. I'm 160lbs, so if I have a failure, you best avoid yours:busted: lol, jk. I didn't pay anything for mine (they were a Christmas present), but if I need additions, I will look into those GM stands.

Ironically enough, just how it turned out, I probably spent more time in that beat up F&S than any other stand last year. It was part of a set that was hung late and she was all I had left in the arsonal.
