I have added lifelines to 5 of my stands this year. I will to the other few next year. Whenever I invite people to hunt my property I require them to use a harness. If they don't have one they can use one of my many free cheap ones that come with stands. I wish a company would come out and find a way to sell lifelines a little cheaper than $40 each. If one sold them for $20 on-line they would make a killing and lot's more people would use them on a lot more stands (hint hint to you entrepreneurial motivated minded people reading this). Has anybody ever made their own? Also I cannot understand how treestand manufacturing company's get away with selling treestands without rachet straps included. Those pull tight straps you see included with cheaper model stands are so loose and wobbly I can only wonder how many accidents they have led to. Isn't there a safety regulations association that regulates this stuff? I buy rachet straps now but someone new to hunting and hitting the woods for the first time wouldn't know to do that. I preach safety so much to the people I hunt with I think they get annoyed but hey that's ok with me. I don't want to see them in a wheelchair for the rest of their life or worse.
