Headed up to the hospital this morning. Talked to his son late last night. He'll be out of work for a while but is expected to make a full recovery! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk
Glad he is alright. I had a friend who nearly died falling while hanging a treestand. It's not worth it! 2 years ago my old climbing stand had a failure, and the only thing that saved me was my harness. It hurt like hell, and I was bruised up pretty bad, but I wasn't dead.
Sorry to hear, I pray for the best. I just had my first child in February, and I just purchased my first lifeline. Normally I don't mind climbing up the tree then hooking in. Now I am taking extra precautions and hooking in at the bottom of the tree.
Made it up to visit with him this morning. He's looks pretty bad to be honest. Staples in his head, 8 broken ribs, hole in his lung. They are running test on his kidneys and bladder this morning. Hopefully they all come back ok. He was 20 ft up in the tree and blacked out. Hit his head on the stand and landed on his left side on the ground. That whole side of his body is pretty much black. Needless to say everyone please stay strapped to the tree from the time you leave the ground until you make it back down. He will be out 3 months but in the end it could have been alot worse. I really like it when a company steps up. Millennuim stands now come with a safety life line with all their hang-on and ladder stands. I know it's partially marketing, but it's also putting these life saving devices into the hands of people that might not otherwise use it. Bravo Millennium. My hope is that all other treestand manufacturers will also start doing this. Millennium Tree Stands | Millennium Tree Stands
