I am in the process of cutting down a half dead / busted up white birch tree in my back yard. So far I have de-limbed it and cut the top out of it. So right now I have a 25'-0" tall stump in my yard! It would be pretty cool to have it turned in to a totem pole, but I don't have the skill set to do that, and I don't have enough disposable cash to pay someone to do it. My wife suggested cutting it into a little chair, and that's easy enough, but it's pretty ordinary. If you have any ideas that aren't that difficult, but more unique than a chair suggest away.
Use some of the trunk for side/coffee tables....just needs to be cleaned up and lacquered! Isaiah would probably take one
Its pretty neat when people carve out eagles, bears, etc out of tree stumps. done with chainsaws i believe
I would love to have a bear carved into it, but I know I am not skilled enough with a chainsaw to pull it off. There is guy fairly local that does this for a living, but he isn't cheap, so that's out. Right now I'm thinking I might just cut it so it's around 4' tall or so and turn it into bird feeder central. Maybe cut it into a unique shape that won't be too hard to do and hang some feeders on it, and put a few screws in it for corn cobs for the birds and squirrles. Keep the suggestions coming if you have any.
