So I just bought a set of 3 lone wolf sticks off craigslist for $90 and I'm super happy! And I was talking to the guy and he said he had 2 loc on stands for sale too, one was a spirit and I'm not sure about the other but it was very similar. He didn't have a price on them and I'm not sure what there worth either. They look pretty good other than some rubbed off paint and other minor things. What do you guys think there worth?

Did the stand look like this?

If it is a Loc-On. They are pretty decent little stands. The company is now out of business so you cant get them anymore. I still currently use the Limit version which is only 7 pounds I think. If i found one for sale, I'd prolly offer him about 50-60 bucks if it was in good condition.

I wanted a couple of their smaller stands so bad, things are tiny but that is what I want sometimes.

They work pretty slick for being a run and gun type hunter. I use 3 lone wolf sticks with mine and can get about 15 ft max. Generally I don't even go that high as I try to get in cover.

I think next year i'm going to buy into the new XOP stand that they are coming out with and the new sticks. Suppose to be a sub 8 pound stand and their sticks are suppose to lock onto the stand without any straps which would be pretty sweet.

I'm curious to know what stands the OP is referring to but i'm pretty sure its the Loc-On Spirit.

The only bad thing about the spirit that I don't like is that it uses a chain (Going by the picture) The limit used a strap that you pull tight like other modern stands. I think the spirt was designed more for set it up and leave it for the season versus setup and take down after each hunt.

Wouldnt there be some way to take off the chain and replace it with a strap ?

More than likely yes. On my Loc-On limit its basically just 2 bolts that run through the strap and into the stand. Plus I just noticed that the Spirit is 12 pounds versus my Limit being like 7

I'd slap a versa button on that thing and use a strap instead of the chain.
